I still remember standing in the hallway back in high school—what feels like a lifetime ago—when I finally decided what I wanted to be when I grew up. I knew one thing for sure: I wanted to help people. At first, I dreamed of becoming a pediatrician… but since I pass out at the sight of blood, that clearly wasn’t the best fit! Eventually, a series of great life decisions led me to the financial services industry, where I found my path.

 

I didn’t want to work for someone who controlled how and when I did my job, decided my value, and set the prices for my work. So the clear choice was to start my own business—and honestly, it was absolutely worth it.
